Who are you and what do you do at incentivesmart?
I’m Lauren and I’m one of the Account Managers here at incentivesmart. I’ve been in the Incentive industry for almost all of my career - I started working on an account team way back when as a teenager and after some years I moved into Sales. I loved that I already knew so much about how the programmes worked for the end user which was incredibly useful when meeting clients and pitching solutions. Over time, I’ve learnt so much about company cultures and objectives, how they vary so widely from industry to industry and how important engagement and development is to businesses for not only their customers, but for their very own people too!
I was lucky to find incentivesmart by complete chance. They offered me the opportunity to blast fresh ideas out for consideration, look after my own clients (which I LOVE!) and grow with an independent business destined for great things.
What have you worked on recently that you’re really proud of?
I’m really proud of my team who are improving our solutions and advancing our technology at a rate I have not been used to at previous agencies. The collaboration on projects, the effort and the passion to provide a high standard of service at all times is really something to be impressed with. I’m privileged to be a part of it.
What’s the best thing about working for incentivesmart?
These guys are incredible. I’ve only been here a month and I haven’t ever felt so at ease with a new group of people in my life. I was so nervous about starting with a smaller, niche agency - it’s so easy to sink into the background at a big corporate. What if they didn’t get me? What if they didn’t like me? There has already been ample opportunity to get to know one another and although we all work so hard, no one here takes themselves too seriously, which is unbelievably refreshing. Plus, everyone makes tea - WIN! WIN!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I just want to keep learning. Professionally and personally. incentivesmart seems like a brilliant place to develop, with space to breathe and experiment. Outside of work - maybe I’d like to have bought my own home by then. I definitely want to enrol on an evening course - perhaps I’ll have my own jewellery range on the side too!
What’s your favourite way to spend your weekend?
A tasty breakfast, with a decent cup of coffee, listening to 6 Music usually sets it off to a good start. I have a hilarious group of friends who keep me on my toes with their stories every week when we get together - usually at the local pub. I like walking for miles across open fields in the fresh air with my mum and her dogs as well as sifting through vinyl fairs up and down the country.
What’s your mantra?
" An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward.”
It reminds me to stay focused when life is becoming a bit of a drag - I’m about to be aimed at something amazing!
